RAKU

Raku is a Japanese firing technique that takes only about an hour. I had two bowls fired today and that was the first things finished this semester. I haven't been too happy about this class but today's result made me feel better.

hi age!

it's been awhile since i've visited. school and working with the street youth keep me very busy right now.
your bowls are beautiful. i'm curious why you have not liked your class?

hope you're well,

katia

There are several reasons.

One is that the new facilities suck and everything is late; I have at least 10 pieces that have been sitting for weeks waiting to be fired.

I also have less contact with my class mates because there is less communication when one works on the wheel than when one sits together at a table hand-building.
